Chong S. Lee Ph.D

Eliot KangDr. Chong S. Lee has been appointed as Vice Chairman of GIIR Inc. as of February 2006 and Chief Executive Officer on March 3rd, 2006.

Dr. Lee had been President of LG Management Development Institute and President and Chief Executive Officer of LG Card from March 2003 to March 2004. He first joined LG Card in March 2002 as Executive Vice President and Head of Sales Division 2 in charge of the non-credit card operations (i.e., Installment Financing and Leasing Operations) of the company. He later assumed the position of Chief Financial Officer as of January 2003 before being appointed to President & CEO.

Prior to joining LG Card, Dr. Lee held various executive positions at the Executive Office for Corporate Restructuring (EOCR) of LG. His main responsibilities included the restructuring of LG's corporate business portfolios through active merger and acquisitions (M&A) activities, exploring investment opportunities in key foreign countries (i.e., China, Europe) and making final investment decisions in those markets, coordinating investor relations (IR) activities for LG companies and formulating and implementing international financial strategies for the affiliate companies of LG. Dr. Lee first joined LG in 1989 as Executive Director of the International Finance Team at the Chairman's Office (former name of the EOCR).

Prior to joining LG, Dr. Lee pursued a career as a scholar in the United States. He was an Assistant Professor of International Management at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 1988 to 1989. He was also an Assistant Professor at the School of Business Administration at the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California from 1985 to 1988. Outside the academic community, Dr. Lee has been active for several years in the field of business consulting in such areas as foreign market entry/expansion strategies and effective global operations. Until recently he was also actively involved in academic community by devoting parts of his time away from his corporate responsibility. He was a Visiting Professor at the Graduate School of International Studies at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea from 1991 to 1997, where he taught global business management and global environmental analysis to foreign MBA students.

Dr. Chong S. Lee frequently participates at various international business and economic conferences and is often invited as a speaker to address management and finance issues facing the region and around the world. He has spoken at various renowned conferences such as the Heads of Asia-Pacific Operations Roundtable (HAPO), Annual CEO Roundtable, The Wharton International Forum, and the APEC Business Forum. He was also a member of the Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC) and served as PBEC's Chairman of the Working Committee on Foreign Direct Investment during the years from 1996 to 1998.

Dr. Lee is a graduate from the College of Law of the Seoul National University with an LL.B. in 1974 and he earned his MBA in 1979 from the University of Oregon, Eugene, Oregon. After years of study in the field of International Business policy with minors in International Finance, and International Marketing, Dr. Lee obtained his Ph.D. Business Administration from the University of Washington, in Seattle, Washington in 1986.

Dr. Lee is currently a member of U.S. - Korea Business Council and a member of Finance Subcommittee at Financial Development Evaluation Committee governed by Korean International Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE).

Dr. Lee was a martial arts instructor and enjoys playing golf during his spare time. He is married and has one daughter.
